Yakuza 4 review in numbers

Action - Ps3

Graphics: 9
The streets of Tokyo are really well done, the lights, the shops, passers-by, the underground, the roofs and all the rest is studied in every detail giving at Yakuza 4 an unforgettable atmosphere. Great facial expressions of the characters but ugly animations.

Plot: 9
The plot of Yakuza 4 is really beautiful, very intricate and full of excellent primary and secondary characters. The themes are very strong and adults as usual and tell us of four different characters whose stories intersect each other several times in the time range from 1985 to 2010.

Entertainment: 9
The gameplay has remained unchanged from Yakuza 3, so expect the various street fights against gangs and weird characters, but this time the playable characters (all with their own fighting style) are 4 and thanks to that the variety of action is much better than before. Even the mini-games have experienced a small change, because besides the usual there will be some mini-games exclusive to each character. Ultimately Yakuza 4 has a gameplay maybe old but damn funny.

For how long?: 9
Yakuza 4, between history and various mini-games, lasts dozens of hours so the longevity is assured.

Innovation: 7
Although Yakuza 4 remains anchored to the old gameplay, you have to admit that it brings something new in the series like the option of using 4 different characters or the presence of some new and original locations.

Overall: 8.6
Yakuza 4 is always Yakuza so you will love it or you'll hate it but it's still a great game with mature and intriguing storyline.
