Dragon Age 2 is technically better than the prequel, animations and special effects are much improved as well as the chromatic palette but the textures are still too poorly defined. In general, however Dragon Age 2 has a great atmosphere fantasy that will delight many fans of the genre and not only them.
Entertainment: 9
The focus of the gameplay of Dragon Age 2 are definitely the dialogues and the battles. The dialogues are indeed many and well-rehearsed and are subject to our choices like in the past, while the battles have undergone substantial changes. In practice the fighting in Dragon Age 2, although still very tactical, are frenetic, more spectacular and more immediate than Dragon Age: Origins and I have to admit that the thing in the early hours of gameplay was slightly displaced. With the progress of the game though, I gradually carried away by the excellent gameplay and I can safely say that the combat system in Dragon Age 2 are not inferior than those of Origins, are just different. Great (although a bit simplified) the character growth system that allows at the three classes a wide range of skills and specializations.
Plot: 8
The plot of Dragon Age 2 (which I remind you will change according to your decisions) is told through numerous cut scenes and dialogues of excellent quality and has many well-characterized characters. Even the protagonist (Hawke) has a good charisma, as well as the all world of Dragon Age, but in this sequel seems to miss that epicness that so much had captivated players in Origins.
The sub-quest of Dragon Age 2 are so many and will keep you busy for a long time. Among the sub-quests will return quests dedicated to the secondary characters that serve to deepen your relationships with them.
For how long?: 9
Among the main quests and side quests will take at least 50 hours, not to mention the excellent replay value given by the different choices that the player can do during the adventure.
Innovation: 7
Dragon Age 2 has tried, successfully, to become more accessible for less experienced players and in doing so has probably brought a bit of fresh air in the brand but was it really needed?
Overall: 8.3
Dragon Age 2 is one of the best RPG of this generation as well as the worthy heir of Dragon Age Origins.
